Legacy Letter Process

Step 1: I would set this up as a team building activity. I would personally go through this with my team - and get that “walk through a wall for these people” vibe that Blake mentioned in this episode. I think it’s helpful for you to have had this experience and go through it first so that you can share your personal story along side Blake’s story. What a GIFT for your team and can be part of your employee experience.

Step 2: Schedule your training call with Blake’s team to get up to speed on everything and hear their best practices from advisor experience.

Step 3: Set up how you’re going to do this with clients. I love the idea of doing it in person and having it be an event that clients can attend. I’d make it a nice event with food, and drinks, and invite your favorite clients and make it an emotional & impactful party. I’d offer up to my clients to bring friends and family.  You could do a couple of different events and make it smaller -- I like around 20 people. Or, you could do a big event. Either way, I love the idea of asking your clients to bring other people… this is so scalable.

Step 4: I’d start to talk about it NOW in all of your meetings and let people know that this is coming up.

Step 5: Blake's team will give you social media posts, scripts, and email templates. All the goodies to make it really easy. Create a compelling invitation. If you’ve got flexibility with compliance, I’d make a video and email sequence about it and your experience with it. Make it about why you want to do this for your clients. What will THEY get out of the experience? What’s in it for them? This is a great chance to highlight that you are so much more about the entire person than just the money. If you don’t have flexibility with compliance… I’d still try to do these two things but I would start NOW so you can get a few emails and a video through compliance before it’s time to execute. And again, they give you most of this and you can just add some personal flair.

Step 6: Make personal phone calls inviting your best clients. Again, opportunity to explain what it is.

Step 7: Execute!
